Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
MUMBAI: When actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan delivered a baby on Wednesday, she made a powerful statement: One is never too posh to push or too old for a natural delivery. The 38-year-old former Miss World won accolades from various city's doctors for her "feat" at a time when every fourth woman in Mumbai undergoes a Caesarean section delivery instead of a natural one. Among women who are over 35 years of age, this statistic gets more skewed: one survey said 60% of them opted for a surgical delivery.
Jaya Bachchan held a baby shower for her pregnant daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Tuesday 18th October at their residence in Mumbai.
Stars such as Bipasha Basu, Saira Banu, Twinkle Khanna, Sonali Bendre, Urmila Matondkar, Manyata Dutt, Asha Parekh and Karan Johar attended the baby shower, which in true Bollywood style featured singing and dancing. Fashion wise the stars opted for Indian attire with many stars opting for white and gold outfits.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is expecting her first child in November, opted for an orange Indian outfit and had makeup artist Mickey Contractor on hand getting the star ready on the day. Guests reported that Aishwarya was glowing with a mother-to-be glow surrounding her.
Choreographer Saroj Khan, who also attended the event, told the media about the baby shower saying, “I have never seen so many celebrity women together. All the women went up to Aishwarya and blessed her. Jayaji received each guest personally and was very warm. Even her daughter, Shweta, gave personal attention to everyone. There were a lot of songs and celebration.”
Husband Abhishek Bachchan, who wore a white and gold embroided kurta, thanked fans for their good wishes to his wife on the special day tweeting, “Good morning everyone. Thank you so much for all the wishes for Aishwarya on her Godh Bharai’. Read out some of your messages to her.”
Amitabh Bachchan could not attend the event as he is currently shooting for his latest Hollywood movie in Australia, The Great Gatsby.
After Jaya Bachchan hosted a grand godh bharai for her daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aishwarya's mother Vrinda Rai also hosted a traditional Mangalore style baby shower for her daughter at a hotel in Bandra, Mumbai.
Vrinda Rai hosted a baby shower for Aishwarya Rai at a hotel in Mumbai in a traditional Mangalorean Bunt style. The function, which took place on October 23rd was a very private affair attended by close family and friends. The event was attended not only by female guests, but also by the men folks.
Vrinda Rai ensured that the décor was typical South Indian. It was decked with jasmine flowers, brass urlis and Kerala lamps made of bell metal. The ambience was typical South Indian style with a strong Kerala theme. What's more, there was also performance by a troupe playing the typical Mangalorean music.
As per sources, the cuisine was also South Indian and had dishes from every state in the south. There was vellappam, malabar parathas, prawns, egg stew, alleppey fish curry, urulaikilangu roast, yennai kathrika, hyderabadi biryani, curd rice, steamed fish and paneer in banana leaf.
The only celebrities from the film industry to be invited apart from the Bachchans was Aishwarya Rai's favourite directors Mani Ratnam, Ashutosh Gowariker and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While Mani Ratnam was accompanied by wife Suhasini, Sanjay Leela Bhansali came alone. Abhishek Bachchan with friends Sikander and Kirron Kher, Shrishti Arya and Sonali Bendre were also present at the function
We all know Sanjay Dutt and Maanyata Dutt are gracious hosts. Recently, they invited Abhishek Bachchcan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan over dinner at their Bandra residence. The Dutts have always been close to the Bachchans and this dinner proves that fact. Guess Abhi and Aish must have taken parenting tips from the recently became parents Sanju and Maanyta.

Director of the Satte Pe Satta Soham Shah has upset Sanjay Dutt. The director recently made an announcement that Madhuri Dixit would play the female lead opposite Dutt in the actor's co-production with Shree Ashtavinayak.
The film in question is the Satte Pe Satta remake and the actor is upset because Madhuri was never approached by the producers and Aishwarya Rai and Kajol were the first choices for the role originally played by Hema Malini in the 1982 flick.
A source maintains, "Kajol was Sanju's first choice. But she had a baby last year and Sanju didn't want to put her in a fix. If not Kajol, his choice was always Aishwarya Rai, never Madhuri Dixit. Ash was approached for the role but had date issues. During this time, two other names came up for consideration Rani Mukherjee and Karisma Kapoor."
At this point, Soham suggested Madhuri. Apparently, he wanted to sensationalise his project. Adds the source, "It was Soham who made the declaration without informing the producers. He told Ashtavinayak that Sanju was fine with Madhuri and told Rikku (Madhuri's secretary) to announce on her birthday that she is doing the film."
Sanjay Dutt says, "The script hasn't yet been sent to Madhuri. Nor has the money exchanged hands. I am in Diu, so I don't know what's happening in Mumbai. Ashtavinyak and I are waiting for Aishwarya. I don't know why Soham made such a hasty decision without confirming with the producers!"
A source close to Soham insists, "He's not completely to blame. There's more to this story than meets the eye."
Says the source, "Soham had a fallout with Karan Johar after Kaal. He approached Ajay Devgn with the same script and later went to John Abraham with it. That's why none of Soham's actors have worked with him again except Sanju, who gave him another chance after Luck. But now Sanju is upset, too."

If all goes well, Aishwarya Rai will play Sanjay's wife in the film. "We don't know how the rumour started that Vidya Balan had been signed to play Sanju's wife in
Satte Pe Satta. Nobody even approached her. Dutt is extremely keen that we sign Aishwarya to play the female lead opposite him. He is adamant that only Ash fits the role. The actress is keen on the idea of doing the film if everything else works out," a source told Mid Day.
Aishwarya"The script writer along with the director of Satta Pe Satta, Soham Shah, will fly down to New Zealand next week to give her a story narration. Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has always maintained a respectable relationship with megastar Amitabh Bachchan but the same cannot be said with ‘Bachchan bahu’ Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The face-off started when Ash abandoned Aamir Khan’s project Mangal Pandey at the last minute. Then Aamir called up his good friend Rani Mukherjee, who finally appeared in the film.
Usually, Ash does not stay in any party for more than 10 minutes but when she came to know that Aamir and Kiran Rao are on their way, the beauty queen waited for them to reach the party. When the couple reached the party, Ash went forward and bonded with the actor like never before. They spoke warmly and discussed about Kiran’s upcoming movie Dhobi Ghat. After spending some time together, Aamir had to leave early. Soon after his exit, Ash also left the party.
A source from the party revealed that both were seen very comfortable with each other and it seemed that they have forgotten the bitter past and planned to move ahead with good will of each other.
Now, when the dup has settled their issues, can we expect any joint project in near future?

Has Aish agreed to do the film is still unknown, but it looks like Vishal is leaving no opportunity to attract the actress.
